OUR BIG IDEA

So I have been feeling the need for some structure or direction in my daily life with the boys.  Being a stay at home mom there is no one really telling you what you need to get done for the day.  Besides the assumed feeding, cleaning and such there is little direction.  My days are busy, but being a planner and a list checker offer I wanted more direction.  David came up with the idea that we could have a big idea for each day: books, friends&family, helping, abcs&123, art, adventure, Jesus.  Then he made us a chart so the boys could put a sticker up before nap and bedtime to show them they did the big idea for that day.  Today was book day so we went to story time at the library and we will be reading books from the library and discussing why books are important this afternoon.

I am really good at getting things done, but without an idea, direction or purpose I have a hard time.  So this has empowered me and when they put their stickers on the chart I feel accomplished too.
Here is the chart.

List-making is in our blood. This chart is beautiful on a couple of levels for me. First, it's just so organized. Second, just look at it. Is there a more beautiful chart? No, I don't think so.
So beautiful it makes me want to cry.
Are the boys loving it as much as you are?

Yeah they love it. I got them these great monster stickers and before nap and bedtime they get to stick them on the chart. They run around before yelling "sticker time, sticker time!" So yeah they are excited.
